Tuesday, 16. June 2009 : All our sins should now be forgiven

Our trip started on saturday, june 13th. First stop on saturday evening was Wasahamnen in the center of Stockholm. After a day of pouring rain, it was nice to hide under the cockpit cover and watch the tourists being soaked on their walk to Gröna Lund. We considered to wait for better weather, but the forecast was even worse, and we decided to continue. Next stop was Finnhamn, one of our favourites in the Stockholm Archipelago, but it wasn’t very attractive under the current circumstances. All roads more or less under water and more water coming down. The ships’ speciality, “noodle gratain” with a bottle of red wine saved the day.
The next trip was to Gräddö guest harbour, where we could warmed our cold bodies in a hot sauna and started to see the light at the end of the tunnel - weather forecast promised sun and a little higher temperatures - great!
Now we are tied up at the little guest harbour at Arholma, fully enjoying the blue sky and bright sun, no more rain! Still, roads and walking paths are covered with mud and water after three days and about 100 mm of rain. Plans are to take a jump over to Mariehamn on the Åland Island tomorrow, if the windsituation is favourable.
